Smith Seals Ally Pally Return / Murschell Claims Price Scalp

JEFF SMITH was crowned William Hill North American Champion on Thursday, sealing a return to the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace.

The Canadian ace defeated John Norman Jnr in the final in Las Vegas to secure his sport at the 2018/19 staging of the sport’s most prestigious tournament.

Smith’s compatriot Dawson Murschell, who is also represented by ZWA, was narrowly beaten in the semi-finals by Norman Jnr.

Murschell bounced back in style by claiming a giant-killing for the second consecutive year at the US Darts Masters World Series event on Friday.

The youngster, who had seen off James Wade in 2017, defeated Gerwyn Price 6-2.

Smith was defeated in the first round by world number on Michael Van Gerwen.
